Auto Localize & Scan
This feature is only available when connected to Topcon ESN-100 scanner and requires two or more ATP1/2 360 degree prisms.
The Auto Localize & Scan function will automatically execute a resection localization and a full dome scan simultaneously.
Setup
First, you will need to place both your prisms on two or more established control points. Ensure you adjust the rod height so that each prism has a different height. Set your scanner up so that it has line of sight on all the prisms you have just set. For best results, set the scanner up a minimum of 15 ft (or 3 meters) away from your prisms.
Steps
Once both prisms and the scanner is setup, create a new station.
When you are in the either the Scan workflow or Localization workflow, tap the Auto Localize & Scan button.
You will then see the display the Automatic resection menu. From here select the two or more reference points you have established over your prisms and enter their heights into the height field.
Once you have selected the control points and filled the height field, tap the SCAN SETTINGS button to proceed.
Once you have set your scan settings, tap the START SCAN to begin. With the auto scan function, imaging is enabled by default. With the ESN-100, data transfer occurs simultaneously with scanning, so there is virtually no data transfer latency. When the scan has completed, the scan preview screen will be displayed. Otherwise it is the same process as the Scan workflow.
With the auto scan function, imaging is enabled by default.
Once the scan has completed you will be brought to the Keep or Discard screen. Tap either KEEP or KEEP AND LINK to proceed. Once you proceed, the resection process will begin. Once it has completed the results will be displayed.
If the target detection results are incorrect or the instrument placement is inaccurate, you can remeasure the target or edit the reference points and target measurement results from the editing panel on the right.
Once you have edited the localization, tap the APPLY CHANGES button to run the resection with the new parameter changes you have made. If no editing is required, tap the ACCEPT button. Once the scan processing is complete, the point cloud data will be displayed on the view.
