Background Processing
This article will cover how to activate and use Background Processing in Collage Site.
Collage Site allows you to control the scanner’s scan settings and add a laser scan or target measurement to the station you’ve just created and/or localized.
If you are connected to a scanner and have created a new station to add a scan to, you will see the Scan option in the workflow panel:
Inside the scan workflow selector, there are currently three options:
The Pause Scan feature allows you to temporarily pause the active scanning on your GTL and/or GLS scanners. This feature gives you the ability to pause a scan while in progress, allowing you to make any changes to the physical scan environment or wait for people or vehicles to pass out of the scan area in order to get a cleaner scan.
To use this feature, initiate a scan by selecting START SCAN, via the Full Dome Scan or Window Scan options. You will then see a progress bar at the top of the workflow panel and a Pause button below. To pause the active scan, select this button. This will temporarily pause the instrument until you are ready to resume. When ready to resume, select Resume Scan - your scan will resume and the progress bar will update until the scan is complete.
