CR-P1 Detail Scan
CR-P1 Detail Scan
Detail scanning, specifically with the Topcon CR-P1 instrument, is mainly designed to help with automatic checkerboard or spherical target recognition in Collage Site. It does this by picking up lidar only for manually defined areas around your instrument, ideally where a target is. The workflow for performing CR-P1 Detail scans is as follows:
As soon as you tap the Detail Scan button in the Scanning workflow menu, the following dialog will appear:
A very quick pre-scan will go off to capture the instrument’s surroundings, and then you will be shown the preview image:
Adjust your scan settings however you would like. Now, using one finger, tap and drag on the preview image of the scan to draw rectangles of areas you would like to perform more detailed scans. To reiterate, it is best to draw rectangles around any targets that you have in your view to assist with automatic target detection. The rectangles will appear red after you draw them, but before you scan them:
After the detail scans are complete you will be taken back to the preview image screen and the successfully captured detail scans will be shown in green:
Important note: You can tap and hold on one of the red or green rectangles on the preview image screen to remove that Detail scan from being kept and processed.
If you are taking two Detail Scans in a row, you MUST allow the first Detail Scan to finish processing before starting the next one. Starting a Detail Scan while the previous Detail Scan is still processing may result in errors or needing to scan again.
Once you are satisfied with all of the Detail scan areas you need, tap the KEEP button. Collage Site will then import and process the scan data under a single station layer, with multiple scan and imaging layers.
