Optimize and Bundle Adjust
This function is a crucial step when it comes to maximizing the accuracy of your registration. Optimize and Bundle Adjust does two critical things to enhance accuracy:
- Runs a higher resolution, higher quality, cloud to cloud calculation with more iterations on each of your cloud to cloud constraints (Optimize)
- Distributes the error across all of the links to ensure the best accuracy possible (Bundle Adjust)
Our Bundle Adjust algorithm in Collage Site includes both cloud-to-cloud constraints and Survey constraints from the localization process. As such, the error will be distributed throughout the constraints to minimize the error across both survey and cloud to cloud constraints once this process is complete.
In order to run Optimize and Bundle Adjust, at least one loop closure is recommended in the graph. If a loop closure does not exist in the graph, you may get back less than favorable results.
From the main Link workflow screen, choose the Optimize & Bundle Adjust option to kick this process off.
This process may be time consuming, and the time will increase as the number of links in your project increases. Additionally, each time it is run we re-optimize ALL links, so wait to do this until you have made all the edits to your graph using the Quick C2C and other registration options.
