Create New Project

This article will cover how to create a new project and open existing projects in Collage Site.

Create new blank project

On the Project page you’ll see the create new project button in the upper-right hand corner of the screen.
To create a New Project, tap the New button.

Then, select New blank project button.

A new screen to create a new project will be displayed.
You must specify a project name and can optionally add a project description.

Once you’ve entered a project name and the optional description, tap Create New Project to proceed.

If the Create New Project button remains greyed out, you either haven’t provided a project name OR have provided an invalid project name. The scanner has limited support for special characters such as spaces, etc… If the project name section is outlined in red you have used one of these unsupported characters - is so, please remove the special character so that the name is supported by the scanner firmware and this will allow you to create the project.

Once the project is successfully created, the project will open and you will be in the project viewer inside the newly created project.

Regarding how to navigate the project viewer, see Navigation.

Add existing project

You can import an exported Collage Site project as a new project.
This feature is mainly used when you want to transfer project data to other computers or to import project data stored as a backup.

Please refer Export Project for how to export Collage Site project.

Import project data

Tap New button in the screen and select New project from SCZ

In the opened dialog, tap to open a Windows File Explorer, then select a Collage Site project file (*.scz) that you previously exported.

Tap Next and specify new project name as necessary. Then, tap Import and Process to proceed.

Once processing has been done, tap Close to return to the home screen.

You can see the project has been added in the project list, however, the project import process is not actually complete yet. Please note that opening a project at this point may corrupt the project, and you may need to restart the Import process.

Instead, navigate to the Tasks page by tapping Home, and then Tasks. On this page, you will see the progress bar related to the project you are currently importing.

Once the loading bar on this page is completed, the new project will be added to the Projects list and is safe to open and start working in. You can also jump directly into the project by tapping the button.
