Import Workflows

This article will cover all of the import types and workflows that are currently supported in Collage Site.

When you open a blank project, you will have limited options in your workflow tab as most of the workflows, such as localization or registration, require data in the project or a connection an instrument.


  • When you are not connected to an instrument, you will only see the Import button in the workflow menu
  • If you are connected you will see Create New Station option in addition to the Import option. You can proceed with free-scanning a project without importing anything into the project, but if you have imports it is highly recommended you import them first to set the coordinate system.

If you want to localize to survey control, you’ll need to load the points list into the project in csv format. Other references such as point clouds or models can be loaded in at any time, but doing so at the beginning of a project will help ensure your scans align to them as you capture the data.

To import references into the project, tap on the Import button in the right workflow panel to open the Import Workflow selector:
