Workarounds

This page will cover current workarounds for known issues that are being actively worked on in Collage Site.

General

  1. Width of the right-side panel in Collage Site may not be adjusted.
Workaround: Please exit current project and reopen the project.

  2. Right panel may be zoomed out accidentally by pinching.
Workaround: Please tap the right panel to focus on and zoom out by pinching. Please tap 2D/3D view first before zooming in the view.

  3. Receiving an Authentication Error upon starting Collage Site
Workaround: Confirm that your security and firewall settings are set to allow Collage Site to operate, and disable DNS Tunneling and restart your device.

Hardware Connection

  1. General issues connecting a tablet/device to a GTL/GLS:
Workaround for GTL : Navigate to the Windows Bluetooth settings on your device/tablet. Unpair from the GTL, then ‘Remove Device’ for the GTL bluetooth connection. Restart the GTL and the device/tablet, then pair the Bluetooth connection once again and attempt to connect in Collage Site.

Workaround for GLS : Turn off the GLS and restart your device/tablet. Turn the GLS back on, then try connecting once again through Collage Site after successfully connecting to the GLS WiFi.

  2. If you are receiving constant errors with your GTL, especially having to do with connection:
Workaround: Please perform a Warm boot (instructions below). If this does not solve the issue then proceed to performing the Cold boot sequence (instructions below). If it does not fix your issue, then please reach out to support.

Cold boot procedure will restore all parameters on the GTL to factory settings. It will also ask you to recalibrate the GTL touchscreen. Please backup all projects before performing a Cold boot.

Import

  1. Incorrect data label text is displayed when adding a layer created by importing a DXF reference file to current project.
Workaround: Please turn Show labels option to OFF in the Tool and Properties tab of right panel as necessary.

  2. LAS scan files may not be automatically recognized on the first try when trying to drag and drop them into the Import dialog for importing as References or Station data.
Workaround: Please specify the Data Format field in the dialog if LAS scan files are not recognized.

  3. As-built model geometry imports into Collage Site and is not aligned with control and/or scan data.
Workaround: Ensure that the model geometry was not exported with US Survey feet from other deliverable software.

Localization

  1. Collage Site may lose connection to a scanning instrument when exiting the target measurement screen in localization workflow.
Workaround: Please check connection icon status and try reconnecting to the instrument. If the issue persists, restart Collage Site as well as your scanning instrument.

  2. Measure Target button may be hidden when performing Occupy and Backsight localization workflow.
Workaround: Please check the instrument connection status. If the connection to an instrument is lost, please reconnect. The Measure Target button will only appear in the Localization settings panel when connected to an instrument.

  3. When using Touch Drive in target measurement screen, a “Command Timeout” error may occur.
Workaround: Please check the instrument connection status. If the connection to an instrument is lost, please reconnect.

  4. It may be difficult to see the list of reference points in the Resection settings panel when the “Create new point from occupied point” is checked in the Resection workflow panel.
Workaround: Change your Windows Display Settings so that the Scale and Layout of text & apps is set to 100% temporarily.

Capturing Data

  1. Error code ending in E572 occurs when trying to perform a Full Dome Scan.
Workaround: This error generally occurs when there is too much vibration for the motors inside of the scanning instrument to handle. First, ensure that the scanner is tightly secured to the tripod. If the scanner is tightly secured and you still receive this error message, you can turn off Tilt Compensation temporarily to circumvent this issue.

  2. Error code saying Directory not found occurs when trying to create a station.
Workaround: Reformat the SD card using the procedure that is outlined in the GTL/GLS user manual. If that does not work, you may need a new SD card. We currently recommend, at minimum, a SanDisk 32GB Ultra SDHC UHS-I Memory Card, with 60MB/s speeds.

  3. Error code saying “Preview Image Not Found” occurs when attempting to take a window scan.
Workaround: This error occurs because the corners of the window scanning drawbox are positioned too close to the curvature of the lens. To fix, please position the corners for the window scanning drawbox farther away from the curvature of the lens.

  1. Cancelling out of a Linking workflow while a link is being created will continue to show a progress bar even when it is done.
Workaround: Cancel the entire process by using the X button that is displayed towards the top of the progress bar on the right side panel.
