Create Markers & Views
This article explains the Create Markers & Views button found in the ClearEdge3D tab.
The ClearEdge3D tab contains three sections in its ribbon, each providing different useful tools for managing point clouds or getting their full use within Autodesk® Revit®.
The first section is Scan Locations, where you can find the Create Markers & Views tool. This tool allows you to create Scanner Location Markers at selected scan locations within your point cloud. These Scanner Location Markers are Generic Models that can be selected, providing access to additional tools found within the Modify Tab.
Recommendations/Considerations:
The second tool in this section is the Hide Markers on Sheets tool. When clicked, the Hide Markers on Sheets tool creates and applies a view filter to hide the created Scan Location Markers in your views that are on a sheet.
The last tool in this section is the Reset Scan Views tool. When clicked, the Reset Scan View tool will reposition the view of the camera from within side the scanner orb view to the original position if panned or walked away. In addition, it will also bring back all the tools available to the scanner orb if another Revit object is selected from within the scanner view.
The second section is Point Clouds and Scans which is where you can find the Toggle Category Visibility, Unhide Dropdown, and Undo Isolate tools. All of these tools revolve around adjusting the visibility of your point clouds and reverting changes with a simple button.
The final section is Scan Painter (Alpha) where you can Add Scan Paint and Remove Scan Paint from elements in your project.
Scan Painter takes your point cloud data and attaches the colors of the point cloud onto the material of the selected element.
