ClearEdge3D Tools for Revit

The ClearEdge3D Tools for Revit plugin is a collection of tools for Autodesk® Revit® that makes it significantly easier to work with point clouds.

Installation

To install the ClearEdge3D Tools for Revit plugin, you must first ensure you have Autodesk® Revit® installed. Currently, the ClearEdge3D Tools for Revit Plugin is only supported in Autodesk® Revit® current year (2024) and the previous three years.

Run the ClearEdge3D_ToolsforRevit_v#.#_Installer.exe. You will then be asked to choose an Install Mode:

• Install for all users (recommended) will install ClearEdge3D Tools for Revit for all users on the machine but requires admin privileges.
• Install for me only will install ClearEdge3D Tools for Revit for your account only and does not require admin privileges.

The next dialog that appears is a EULA. You must accept the agreement to continue.

Once installed, open a Revit project. A new ClearEdge3D tab should now exist within Autodesk® Revit® that contains some of the tools found within the plugin. If the ClearEdge3D tab is not visible, check the dropdown menu on the right-hand side of your ribbon to make it visible. The rest of the plugin tools will be available in the Modify tab once you use the Creates Markers & Views button and select a Scanner Location Marker in your view.
