Known Issues
This article covers any known issues and workarounds in the most recent version of ClearEdge3D Tools for Revit.
Hide Markers on Sheets
- This command cannot be undone except with Revit’s Undo function (ctrl + z)
- New scanner location markers can be created again to make them visible on sheets, but this will create duplicate geometry in the Revit project.
Add Scan Paint
- Not all element types can accept Scan Paint.
- Some element types will turn black after Scan Paint is applied
- This issue occurs in the Textures Visual Style and can be resolved by changing to the Realistic Visual Style. Note, however, that Scan Paint will still be present and visible in the Textures style.
- Some metallic elements require that the Detail Level be set to Fine for Scan Paint to be visible.
- To use unstructured Point Clouds with the Add Scan Paint function, the Revit project must have a template applied.
Scan Locations
- Scan Location names containing Revit-invalid characters will not have Views created
- The Create Views command in the Create Markers & Views window will ignore scan locations with invalid names. If a scanner location marker with an invalid name is selected, the Open Scan View command in the Modify tab will open a Scan View for a valid location name (if one exists). Examples of invalid characters: /:{}[];?’~
Open Scan View
- If multiple Scanner Location Markers are selected when using the Open Scan View button, and you try to orbit immediately, your focal point for navigation will be the center point between your selected scanner location markers. This causes orbit to weirdly pan and orbit through the project in an unintended manner.
- This can be remedied by using the new Reset Scan View tool found in the ClearEdge3D tab.
