Point Clouds
Point Clouds
The Point Clouds section tools affect the point cloud associated with the selected scanner location marker(s). In contrast, the Scanner Locations section tools affect the selected scanner location(s).

Isolate Selected
Clicking the Isolate Selected button isolates the point data of the point cloud associated with the currently selected scanner location(s). This hides the point data of any other point cloud in the project.
Undo Isolate
Clicking the Undo Isolate button reverts the isolation state to a non-isolated state. The Undo Isolate button is the same exact button in the Scan Locations section as it is in the Point Clouds section. Additionally, the Undo Isolate button performs the same functionality as the same named button found in the ClearEdge3D Tab. The button also exists here so you don’t need to navigate back to the ClearEdge3D tab when wanting to undo an isolation.
The Isolate Selected button does not create a “stack” of actions that the Undo Isolate button then reverts one at a time. The Revit undo button, or using (Ctrl + Z), will perform that function. The Undo Isolate button instead reverts the state before you performed a single or multiple isolation actions in a row so you don’t have to use Undo multiple times.
Toggle Visibility
Clicking the Toggle Visibility button will show or hide the point cloud associated with the selected scanner location marker(s). The toggled visibility only affects the visibility of the point cloud associated with the selected scan location marker(s) and does not affect the visibility of the individual scan location(s) themselves.
Point Cloud Coloring Dropdown
Clicking the Point Cloud Coloring Dropdown will present different coloring options to alter the point cloud display. These options include RGB, Single Color, Elevation, Intensity, and Normals.
- RGB - the point cloud will display itself using the RGB values of the point cloud file.
- Single Color - the Point Cloud Color 1 icon will become fully saturated and clickable. This new icon allows you to choose a single display color for the entire point cloud associated with the selected scanner location(s). This will not alter any associated Single Color overrides for specific scan location(s).
- Elevation - the Point Cloud Color 1 and Point Cloud Color 2 icons will become fully saturated and clickable. The lowest elevation points are determined by the first point cloud color, while the highest elevation points are determined by the second point cloud color. By default, the low color is blue and the high color is red. Points will be colored along the set color spectrum depending on their elevation only for the point cloud associated with the selected scanner location(s).
- Intensity - the Point Cloud Color 1 and Point Cloud Color2 icons will become fully saturated and clickable. The highest intensity points are determined by the first point cloud color, while the lowest intensity points are determined by the second point cloud color. By default, the high intensity color is black while the low intensity color is light-gray. Points will be colored along the set color spectrum depending on their intensity only for the point cloud associated with the selected scanner location(s).
- Normals - the point cloud will display itself using the normals of the point cloud file.
