A Modernized User Interface for Better Modeling

We’ve refreshed the EdgeWise interface to deliver a cleaner, more organized look. The updated ribbon layout is designed to align with your modeling workflows, making it easier to find tools and keep projects moving forward without breaking your focus. It’s the same EdgeWise power, now with a more modern feel.

Improved Clipping Box Functionality

Working on large projects just got easier. The improved Clipping Box tools let you break down complex models into manageable chunks:

• Saved Clipping Boxes: Draw clipping boxes, save them, and easily return to specific areas anytime.
• Filter Pipe QA Inside Section Box: Focus QA efforts on pipes inside the section box, reducing clutter and speeding up reviews.
• Easy Connect Inside Clipping Box: Run Easy Connect in smaller, focused areas, making automation less overwhelming.

Why it matters:

When you’re facing a massive point cloud, it can feel overwhelming to model from the entire cloud. These improvements make it easy to break projects into manageable zones without relying on external software, which can cause headaches when stitching data back together.

Now, you can model, QA, and connect pipe runs by zone, keeping the automation focused and manageable. This way, you stay in control and move through projects faster and more accurately.

Smarter Quality Assurance Tools

QA is now faster and more intuitive with updates designed to give you better visibility and control:

• Pipe QA View: Gain more context during QA with a combination of “down-the-barrel” views and pannable 3D models. It’s the same workflow used for Structure QA, now available for pipes.
• Pipe Chain Approval: Keeping track of what’s been modeled—and what still needs work—just got easier. Built based on direct user feedback, Pipe Chain Approval lets you approve pipe runs as you go. As you use semi-automated extraction tools to link segments, approved pipes are automatically color-coded (green), giving you a clear, visual way to track progress and know at a glance what’s complete and what still needs attention.

More context and visual tracking means better, faster QA decisions. By eliminating guesswork, you can manage progress more easily and ensure smoother handoffs across teams.
