Selection, Explode, & Remove

This article covers the Selection functionality as well as the Explode and Remove buttons.

Import Selection

If you want to select the corresponding element(s) in Verity that you selected in the Host, click the Import Selection button. The matching element(s) will then be selected within the Verity Item Table. If you also selected items that are not in your Verity analysis, they will be deselected after you click the Import Selection.

Export Selection

If you want to select the corresponding element(s) in the Host that you have selected in Verity, click the Export Selection button. However, this functionality normally happens by default when you select element(s) in Verity. This button should only need to be used if for some reason the automatic selection doesn’t occur.

Exploding Items

Verity will do its best to correctly find the right level in the selection tree in the Host when bringing the geometry in. However, many manufacturing/system analysis applications have assembly or system-level geometry. If they do, Verity will bring in many individual elements grouped as a single item, significantly reducing the usefulness of the analysis. Verity has an Explode button which allows a user to bring in geometry from the next level down in the Host tree structure. If the next level down does not contain sub-elements, Verity will continue to search down the tree until it either finds sub-elements or runs out of tree levels to search. If a user runs out of tree levels and still have one large grouped item, try to find an alternate means of importing the geometry into the Host.

This tool currently only functions within Verity for Navisworks, and is disabled in Verity for Revit.

Remove from Verity

This tool provides a way to remove items that a user has added that they do not want to Analyze or remove items post-analysis. Select the items in the Item Table that are to be removed. Next, click the Remove Selected Items from Verity button in the Verity Console. Ctrl and Shift modifiers work in the table view to select multiple items. The table sorting will also be useful to group items a user may want to remove. Selected scans can also be removed from the Scan Table if a scan is not needed for the current analysis. Scans can not be removed after an analysis has been completed.

Note: Once an element is removed after an analysis has been run, that item can not be added back in unless a new analysis is created.
