Add to Verity
Add to Verity Revit
There are two workflow options for adding items to Verity from Revit.
Figure 1: Add to Verity options in Revit
Add to Verity (Selected Element)
Add to Verity (Selected Element) is the default option for bringing items into Verity from Revit. All selected point clouds, and all selected model elements that have geometry, will be added to Verity with this button. All selection methods within Revit (clicking on elements in the model space, multi-selecting within the model space, saved selection sets, etc.) will work for this method.
Add to Verity (Active View) - Beta
Add to Verity (Active View) is a beta option that will add to Verity all valid items (point clouds and model elements with geometry) that are present in the active view.
Add to Verity Navisworks
Due to how Navisworks handles model geometry, there are three separate ways to import model geometry into Verity from Navisworks.
Add to Verity (Search Tree)
Add to Verity (Search Tree) is the default option for bringing elements into Verity from Navisworks, this brings in the selected items at their first geometry node in the selection. This allows the user to select items at higher nodes and bring in all the individual elements into the analysis. However, some files can have unusual standards, which may result in undesired behavior with this method, such as bringing in the entire system as one element. Such discrepancies should be monitored for in Verity, or circumvented by using either of the other two options for finer control.

Add to Verity (Selected Node)
Add to Verity (Selected Node) does not search the Search Tree whatsoever for individual element nodes, instead trusting the user’s selection. This can inadvertently lead to entire systems or even disciplines being brought in as a single item, which in severe cases can cause the import to either take hours or even crash entirely. It is recommended to use Add to Verity (Search Tree) primarily, and only use Add to Verity (Selected Node) for specific use cases, such as:
- Add to Verity (Search Tree) gave undesired results for a manually-picked selection.
- Using search sets to select elements by their property values.
- Situations in which you specifically want to add a system or group of elements as a single item to Verity.

Add to Verity (Selected Elements as a Single Item)
Add to Verity (Selected Elements as a Single Item) expands on the previously mentioned functionality of Add to Verity (Selected Node) by allowing any geometry to be grouped as a single element in Verity. This primarily sees use in situations like a user needing to group together elements from the same system, but different nodes.
The GUID in Verity will still be applied to each element normally, but linked to the Verity Grouped Element in the Verity Analysis.
